Sreejith Ramanan bags Kanal-Vayala award

Contemporary theatre director and actor Sreejith Ramanan was honoured with this year’s Kanal-Vayala award at a ceremony held at Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan recently. The award, instituted by Kanal Samskarika Vedi, Thiruvananthapuram, was presented to Sreejith by Minister For Tourism Kadakampally Surendran.
Playwright Shirley Somasundaram, Valsala Vasudevan Pillai, Dr Raja Warrier and Kannan Nayar were also present at the event.The award ceremony was followed by a screening of the Malayalam play Time Bomb, written and directed by Arun Nayar. The play had actors Santhosh Venjaramoodu and Jayadev Ravi in prominent roles.
