The Tolly Amateur Open, that took place recently at Tolly Club, was the fifth leg of the Indian Golf Union's (IGU) eastern amateur circuit.
The tournament saw 70 golfers in action. The youngest golfer to take part in the competition was seven years old, while the oldest was aged 60.
One of the highlights of the event was when 11-year-old Sinjini Mukherjee beat some of the top lady golfers from eastern India.
Indrajit Bhalotia, who’s closely associated with the tournament, said, “This tournament hold the weightage of a national-ranking tournament. It’s like a stepping stone for amateur golfers from eastern India aiming for a national tournament.”
