Aam baat hai!

To celebrate the season of Mangoes, Lucknowites made their way to the 11th Mango Festival at Madhav Udyan for an Orchard visit. City folk tried over 60 different varieties of mangoes. While some were seen climbing on the mango tree for their favourite aam, others just sat under the mango tree relaxing, breathing the fresh air filled with the aroma of mangoes.

To make it more fun, the festival also had a mango eating competition, where the person who ate the most number of mangos in a certain time became the winner. The fresh mango panna was everyone’s favorite drink. The festival also had different fun activities such as clay pot making, bullock cart ride, camel ride and more. People were seen taking selfies with the mangoes as they enjoyed a live dholak music performance.

“We love to bring the people of Lucknow together to celebrate the king of fruits, which is the mango. With this festival, we aim to keep this integral part of our culture alive. Such festivals also benefit the farmers and the local rural economy,” said Jyotsna Kaur Habibullah, the key organizer of the fest.
