Shabana Azmi attends Lucknow Literary Carnival

While Shabana Azmi recounted qissas of her father, noted poet and writer Kaifi Azmi, and spoke about his influence on literature and theatre with writer and Lucknowite Atul Tiwari, the Lucknow Literary Carnival that ended on Sunday also remembered writer and Lucknowite Shivani. A healthy discussion ensued between actor Manav Kaul, lyricists Swanand Kirkire and Kausar Munir with director Manish Gupta about Hindi poetry and its relevance in present times. Author Amish Tripathi talked about his journey from Shiva to Ram in his books, while Srijan Pal Singh, another Lucknowite and former advisor to late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, spoke about his mentor. The evenings were brought to life by the stellar performances of actors Rajit Kapur, Shernaz Patel, Aanand Tiwari and Preetika Chawla in their play One On One on Saturday and a ballet From The Kotha To The Gramphone, on Sunday.
