A bhangra night with Daler

It was a pleasant Sunday evening when the king of Bhangra Pop, Daler Mehndi performed in the city. The artiste was specially invited to the city by Pune Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal.
The event began with a dance troupe performing the traditional bhangra dance. The guests enjoyed the performance as the dancers gracefully yet energetically performed the set.Later, stand-up comedian Chandan Prabhakar kept the audience entertained with hilarious jokes. And finally, Daler Mehndi came onstage to rousing cheers from the audience. The king thanked the organisers and artistes of the show before commencing his performance. Daler mesmerised the crowd with his powerful and his celebrated smile, singing some of the most well-known songs including Na Na Na Re, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Bhootni Ke. He also performed some of his personal favourites such as Ishq and Sauda Khara Khara by Sukhbir, Dil Bhi Gaya Re and Chahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe. The excitement was tantalising as many members of the audience got up and started dancing to the songs. It was a non-stop, energetic performance, Daler Mehndi style!
