The party after the first Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Delhi began with mixed reactions from the crowd.
While some were dejected at Delhi’s loss on home turf, others only seemed to be waiting for the cricketing stars so they could take a few pictures. Lalit Modi walked in with Rajiv Shukla, dressed as usual in a pastel business suit with a light pink kerchief in his pocket.

Modi hung around at the party for quite a while and even joined guests, including Arjun Rampal, on the dance floor for a few minutes.
When Nita Ambani walked in with two of her children, daughter Isha and son Akash, guests went into a tizzy. Nita immediately escaped the crowd and headed to a pub in the hotel, where she was later joined by members of Team Mumbai, including Harbhajan Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya, among others. While Bhajji and Jayasuriya later came to the official IPL party too, Tendulkar gave that a miss, leading to much speculation. Jonty Rhodes and Dilshan were much requested for autographs. Even at three in the night, the cricketers’s energy was a source of envy for many. A while later, Nita went back to her room, but not before signing at least a dozen autographs. On her way to the lift, Nita told us, “I am enjoying every moment of this win.” She left the hotel around two to head back to Mumbai.
Some of the country’s top models walked the ramp in Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna’s outfits and cheers came from all directions in the room. Coordinators Mehr Rampal and Nayanika Chatterjee made sure that there weren’t any glitches. We saw Ramneek and Rajat Pantal discussing the match with friends, when Tanisha and Robby Mohan came in after watching the match at Kotla.
