The Boys in Blue, along with those in green and yellow, had a field day (literally!) at this Cricket Rating Awards night on Thursday.
The Boys in Blue, along with those in green and yellow, had a field day (literally!) at this Cricket Rating Awards night on Thursday.
So there was no on-field war, instead, there was off-field camaraderie as the Indian team mingled with international cricketers.
The programme, hosted by the gorgeous Malaika Arora Khan and funny man Cyrus Broacha, began with a dazzling performance of a medley of dance numbers, followed by Sunil Gavaskar addressing the cheering crowd, elaborating about the cricket ratings and congratulating the T20 champions saying, “We are proud of you boys!”
Unadulterated fun seemed to be the motto of the cricketers that evening as captain MS Dhoni and players Muttiah Murlitharan, Robin Uthappa and Irfan Pathan were seen laughing their guts out as Cyrus and Kunal went on to do a naughty spoof on Ricky Ponting, that had Ricky blushing a beetroot red!
It was cute to see Sreesanth swaying in rhythm as Malaika performed on stage.
NOW THAT’S A SPORT! Gavaskar also showed that he was a true sport not only on the field but also off it, as Cyrus Broacha and Kunal Vijaykar went on to do a spoof on him and Fali Nariman, which had Sunny rolling in laughter!
l SSHHH, IT’S A SECRET: Backstage, Malaika confided to Cyrus Broacha that she found Micheles Johnson very cute and despite being sworn to secrecy, Cyrus being Cyrus let the cat out of the bag in front of the teeming audience thus leaving Malaika gaping and Michele blushing!
