To mark Women’s Day, organisers of The Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) put together an entertaining evening. There was an in-depth panel discussion on issues that women face across the globe today, with a number of participants from India including Dia Mirza, Perizaad Zorabian and Diana Hayden, along with some of British Columbia’s top female leaders including Stephanie Cadieux, Minister of Children and Family Development, entrepreneur Shushma Dutt and Dr Shimi Kang, Clinical Associate Professor, University of British Columbia.
Daljit Thind of Thind Properties, which is TOIFA’s Canadian presenting sponsor, was also in attendance.
The women achievers attending this event were from various backgrounds, industries and ages — yet each one had an impactful story to tell. As part of the evening, BC-based fashion designer Davi Bains-Gill displayed her collection. The fashion show, that saw Miss Indias walk the ramp donning Satya Paul creations, was choreographed by Marc Robinson.
Vancouver will have the who’s who of Bollywood in attendance for TOIFA that will be held from April 4-6. The countdown has begun.
