International Women’s Day by the IMC Ladies’ Wing

While most star wives these days don’t leave their homes without a van full of security guards, it was refreshing to see Nita Ambani arrive at this IMC event minus the bodyguards.
The occasion was to celebrate International Women’s Day, hosted by the IMC Ladies’ Wing. While leaving she was mobbed (yes, believe it) by hundreds of women wanting her autograph (we saw her signing a few, amused) and photographs with her.She posed for as many people as she could, slowly inching her way towards the exit. Her speech was the highlight of the event, apart from the verbal pow wow that author Tavleen Singh had with a guest. Javed Akhtar had the almost all-ladies crowd glued to their seats and hanging on to every word. Arti Surendranath and Devieka Bhojwani looked lovely in Indian wear.
