After a stellar turn as the enterprising and endearing Shashi in 'English Vinglish' (2012)
Sridevi is back on the silver screen in '
Mom'. At the film's trailer launch in Mumbai on Saturday when asked why she chose to work with new-age filmmakers and not established names in the industry, Sri was quick to retort, "Why not?". She also added, "The script was moving and touched me, which is why I decided to do the film."
On a lighter note when scribes questioned her about how her husband and producer
Boney Kapoor had changed over the years, the actress replied without missing a beat, "He has put on a little weight." That's not all, while admitting that she is a director's actor and surrenders to his vision completely, Sri also added that, in her attempt to prepare for her role she followed one essential mantra.
She said, "I didn't speak to Boney ji for three months." This left the audience in splits.
Meanwhile when co-star
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked to recount his favourite movies of the superstar, he mentioned her iconic performances in films like 'Sadma' and 'Chandni' but was interrupted by Boney Kapoor who was quick to add, "'Mr. India' yaad hai na?".
'Mom' is directed by debutant Ravi Udyawar will hit screens on 7th July.
