Mumbai and its cutting chai go hand-in-hand! The city is synonymous with the piping hot glass, especially in the rains. Chai has been a facilitator of friendships and creativity and it’s said that the rush of nostalgia one gets from that one sip of it is unparalleled to anything else. In the city you will find a bunch of chai tapris in busy chowks, where office-goers spend their ‘break time’ and passers-by also stop here for a quick pick-me-up! With this thought in mind, Mumbai’s Instagram community and a biscuit company met up for a photowalk…

About 25 participants, who are Instagrammers, met up by 8 am at Charni Road, phones and cameras in hand, and ready to take on the tea and biscuit experience.

They took pictures of the famed cutting chai-biscuit combination juxtaposed against the iconic backdrop of Mumbai’s heritage sites and shared it on their Instagram. Says Dhaval Raval, budding photographer, “Having attended many photowalks in Mumbai, this one was especially close my heart as I am an ardent chai lover. All of us were passionate about photography and chai. It was such a fun as all as learning experience for us who took part. The walk culminated in some refreshing Irani chai.”

Dhanya Asher resident of Thane came across town especially for the event. “I recently moved to India from the Middle East and it was fun to meet other people and take their perspectives in photography. I ended up taking a bunch of pictures. I’m also a huge fan of tea myself, and here it’s so nice that everyone relates to it, too.”
