On Tuesday afternoon, the star cast of the upcoming romantic drama ‘Laila Majnu’ – comprising actors Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri along with the movie’s writer Imtiaz Ali – interacted with students of UPG College at the campus’ Santokba Hall. The event was part of their LitFest’s activity, which will be held between September 27 and 29. The LitFest aims to celebrate art and culture and provide an open platform to people from all walks of life to witness art.
The event began with a formal introduction of the guests followed by a

screening of the movie’s trailer, which received an overwhelming response. This was followed by an interactive round with the audience. A student, who was intrigued by Imtiaz Ali’s take on literature and its stance in today’s era, was responded to with a Shakespearean response: ‘It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.’ Imtiaz, who has studied literature, further elaborated on this, stating that the form of literature will change time and again but its relevance keeps growing consistently.

The event came to end with a rocking dance performance by the youngsters to the film’s title track, ‘O Meri Laila’ and the lead pair joined them to shake a leg.
