The largest nationwide hairdressing competition — L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy— took place at the NCPA on Friday night.
Hosted by actress Gul Panag, the jury members included designer Manish Malhotra, photographer Jatin Kampani, makeup expert Venus Pereira, Michel Claire (International Development Director, L'Oréal Professionnel) and Jo Hansford (MBE, hairdresser to the British royalty; also described as ‘The best colourist on the planet.’
In its fourth year, the competition received 850 entries from across four regional zones in India.

The grand finale saw a riot of stylish hairdos and future trends. There were shows from the brand’s Dream Team — top five Indian hairdressers — displaying creative hairstyles. Over 1,100 spectators cheered for ‘Thousand and One Nights of the Future’, a spectacular show by Jason and India Miller from Charlie Miller salons, UK.
Post the show, K Balaprasad from Mane’s salon, Hyderabad was announced as the winner of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy. Followed by 1st runner up Tabassum Sheikh from Enrich salons, Mumbai, who also bagged the special Jo Hansford award. The 2nd runner up title went to Deepak Sain from Rajasthan Salon, Rourkela.
