‘Punjabi’ theme party in Kanpur
This party organised by a prominent club of Kanpur was one vibrant affair. It had to be, because the theme of the party was ‘Punjabi’.
The guests entered the venue through a colourful entrance, elaborately done with strings made of bangles and the place was given the raw look of a village.
What further added to this charm of the evening were delectable delicacies like Chicken Tikka, Chicken Patiala, Makke Di Roti and Sarson Da Saag which were served at the do.
Also, the crowd that had turned up at this do was quite fashionable. Women looked gorgeous in hip-n-happening attires and also in traditional salwar kameez teamed with colourful gurgabis.
The anchoring by Anil Bhatia peppered with jokes and anecdotes added to the fun. And can any Punjabi do be complete without Bhangra and Gidda? Making the evening more memorable were the performances by a dance troupe that came all the way from Punjab. Their dance performances on numbers like Sona disda mera mahiya, Dhol jagero da, Dhol wajada set the pace of the evening.
Club Secretary Rajeev Mehrotra looked after all the arrangements of the do. Also spotted at the do were other club members which included Guddu Chhatwal, Sanjeev Mehrotra, Sanjay Panjwani and Abhinav.
