The Dabbawalas speak at Management Conclave 2013 organized by S B Jain College

Students and faculty from various colleges got together for the Management Conclave 2013 organized by S B Jain College, with the speakers from the six sigma achievers, the Dabbawalas.Abhishek Dinkar, Vice President of the Dabbawala Foundation, explained their organizational structure and how they also work for the welfare of the dabbawalas and their families thus fulfilling their corporate responsibilities too.The hall echoed with a huge round of applause when the crowd learned that the Secretary of the Dabbawala Foundation, Sukharam Sitaram Gavande, has worked as a dabbawala for 45 years and still delivers 30 to 35 dabbas each day!
The guest speakers had the audience in thrall as they gave tips on ethics an organisation should follow with and how to become a better manager by serving the customer and not the boss. It was quite interesting to see a few students sporting the Gandhi topi, just like the eminent guests even as the speakers amusingly called them 'the upcoming dabbawalas'.
