Bihar Entrepreneurs Association (BEA) will soon set up East India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Patna. It is a first of its kind in Bihar. Abhishek Singh, secretary general of BEA, said, “We have finalised the blueprint. The centre of excellence will help BEA strive closer to their goal of building skills in emerging technologies and boost the ecosystem in Bihar.

The setting up of CoE is in line with BEA’s goals and deliverables to improve the competitiveness of the state.”
The organisation will strive to produce reusable artefacts for industry that matters to entrepreneurs of Bihar. It will build skills to provide consultancy and mentoring to the local entrepreneurs. Also, it will establish partnerships with local universities and high schools to train teachers and students. “The applications of AI, especially in areas like education, healthcare, tourism, medical devices, building materials, telecom, retail, government sector, insurance, media and entertainment, energy and environment, logistics sector, bio pharmaceuticals, consumer products can help revolutionise the industry. As a goodwill gesture, the association will also provide the AI source code to the innovators, who can maximise the use of artificial intelligence,” Abhishek added.
With this effort, the current and next generation entrepreneurs’ skills will be leveraged. After its collaboration with US Chapter, it will play a pivotal role in bringing in demand capabilities and fostering advanced technology driven entrepreneurial initiatives. Earlier in 2016, the Government of Bihar also set up a Bihar start-up policy to create a thriving start-up ecosystem.
