The 353rd birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with much enthusiasm in the city. Thousands of devotees from various states including Punjab,
Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bhopal, Rajasthan and
Maharashtra visited Bihar to participate in the celebration. Some visitors also came all the way from Canada and Australia to attend the three-day event.
Devotees congratulated the government for the convenient arrangement made at the city and Patna Sahib gurudwara.
Kuldeep Singh, a devotee from Punjab, said, “This is my second Prakash Parv celebrations in the city. The arrangements made at the tent is very good and all the basic facilities have been provided. Crowd management was also done very well. My family and I got an accommodation at the vast tent city made at the Kangan Ghat. Heaters were provided at almost every tent to protect people from cold. The special langar hall made at the tent city was an additional provision for us.”
Sharing similar views, Talwinder Kaur, another devotee from Punjab, said, “Besides other arrangements, government also provided us with tight security. Both male and female cops were deployed at every nook and corner of the city. I could also see several CCTV cameras installed at tent city and also gurudwara. Buses were also provided to us for cheap and easy transportation. This was my first visit but I will try to visit every year during Prakash Parv. My family members are equally happy with the arrangements.”
