Journey of a story told through dance

Do you know, how stories are created, how they are passed on through generations, and how they have an impact on our lives. Well, Team Sutradhar, a city based theatre and dance group recently performed on this very subject. They staged the unheard tales through a 45-minute dance-drama called I, Story, Mi Gosht, Mei Kahani.
Performed by senior students of Guru Maneesha Sathe, this Kathak-based act explored the journey of a story. Kathak exponents like Madhura Aphale, Toshal Gandhi, Natasha Poonawalla, and Vallarie Apte, Moushmi Jaju and Utkarsha Dagade put together this cultural concert. Another highlight of the event was that it was made accessible for the deaf with live sign language interpretations by some members. “We want people to get connected to art in a format that they like and easily understand. Even people who don’t have prior knowledge of classical art can enjoy our shows”, said Toshal Gandhi, one of the main organisers of the event.
