Amidst loud cheers and fan frenzy, actor
Emraan Hashmi visited the Sinhgad Institutes, Kondhwa Campus in the city yesterday. The actor, who will be seen in the film Why Cheat India, interacted with students at the college.
“In junior college, I was a very confused guy. I had joined a commerce college in Mumbai because of my then girlfriend was there. A year later, we ended the relationship and I was clueless about what to do,” he said.
Emraan’s film, which releases today, deals with the rampant malpractices in the education sector and the actor made sure to stress on the importance of education in the students’ lives. “Being career-oriented is very important and working hard is the only way to achieve what we want. You guys must take your college days seriously and be focused,” he told them.
Emraan also gave a piece of advice to students who had bunked their classes to catch a glimpse of him. “Sab ne class bunk kiya naa,” he asked, adding, “Don’t bunk your classes. Having fun is important but being a good student is also necessary if you want to achieve something in life.”
Before heading off, the actor clicked selfies with some students and also had some nice things to say about the city. “Pune is the best place to study and I love this city and its people. As a student, you all have so much to do in the city. There are so many opportunities here. I wish I had studied in Pune,” he said on a parting note.
