A musical treat for Banarasis on the ghat

This was an event which no music lover would have liked to miss. The second edition of the Kabira festival, dedicated to the great poet, was thronged by music connoisseurs who came from different cities. Socialite Bina Ramani, commentator Charu Sharma, businesswoman Anu Aga, were among the audience enjoying the two-day musical soiree.
The morning music sessions held at Darbanga Ghat were not just for the ears.Artists like Kumar Sarang, Rashmi Kumar, Sucharita Gupta and Harpreet Singh through their performances, gave a perfect start to the day.
The evenings also witnessed some musical artistry. Mahesha Ram, through his folk performance, regaled the audience. Bindu Malini and Vedant Bharadwaj’s renditions were loved by all. Celebrated artist Shubha Mudgal, in her powerful voice, depicted the various facets of divinity in her songs.
The concluding evening was marked by some laudable performances by Harpreet Singh and trio, Maati Baani and Kailash Kher.
The highlight of the evening turned out to be singer Kailash Kher’s performance who was welcomed with a loud applause by the audience. Beginning his performance with Piya Ke Rang, he went on to sing his popular songs like Teri Deewani, Tere Bin Nahi Lagda Dil, much to the delight of the people. The celebrated singer also invited ladies from the audience to dance with him on the stage.
