A post-Holi kavi sammelan was organised by
Benaras Club
recently in the city. With stand-up comedian
Ehsaan Qureshi, anchoring the event, the members were in splits with his one liners.
Speaking in his characteristic style, the comedian poked fun at Bollywood actors as well as politicos, which brought a lot of smile on the faces of the audience. “Main Banaras pehli baar aya hoon par suna hai mere duplicate pehle aa chuke hain,” he said taking a dig at the fellow comedians.
Poets like
Manoj Madrasi
,
Banshi Mishra
and
Zeenat Parveen
also kept the guests entertained with their poetry. Banshi Mishra’s satire on various governmental schemes evoked a lot of laughter.
The evening concluded with Divisional Commissioner Nitin Ramesh Gokaran, who was the chief guest on the occasion, appreciating the humour of the performers.
