Promoting the cause of music

To encourage young talent a musical session was organized by a cultural organization. The event titled Prabhati, featured vocalist Dr Ranjani Ramachandran who came from Shanti Niketan. A lot of classical music aficionados gathered to witness the performance. She began her recital with a composition in Miyan Ki Todi. Later, she moved to Raag Brindavani Sarang in which she rendered compositions like Piya Laagi Laagi and Aali Wali Ankhiyan.Adding a spiritual mood to the event she sang a Kabir bhajan Ramaiyan Ki Dulhan. She concluded her performance with a bhajan in Raag Bhairavi, Dhun Sunke Manwa. Giving a perfect accompaniment to her recital were Pt Pundlik Krishna Bhagwat on tabla, Mohit Sahni on harmonium and Pragati Dwivedi on tanpura. Earlier the artists were welcomed by Ashok Kapoor.
