Deeksha JoshiIn Karsandas Pay & Use, I wasn’t comfortable with the dialect and it was different than the regular Gujarati language. I needed to master the language to play a typical Gujarati girl from Mehsana. I practised a lot by talking to people in the same dialect which just didn’t define my personality, but by the time we started shooting I made myself comfortable with the language. I used to act even during my college days and was chubby back then. But as soon as I entered the film industry, I started paying attention to my appearance. I switched to a healthier diet as well. I also started paying more attention to my pronunciation and improved my Gujarati vocabulary.
Aarohi PatelI did not know how to drive a two wheeler. But for my latest film with Yash Soni, I had to learn to ride a bike as my character demanded me to drive a Bullet, that too in the difficult terrain of Uttarakhand. I started riding a normal bike and then shifted to a Bullet later. It was a difficult journey for me. I fell from the bike a few times while shooting for the film. I didn’t suffer any major injuries but the whole process
of riding a bike was really empowering.
Raunaq KamdarAfter Hu Tu Tu Tu - Aavi Ramat Ni Rutu, I lost 18 kilos for Tuu Toh Gayo and another three kilos for Patel vs Patrick. Then, I had to put on about four kilos for Family Circus and then seven kilos more for Baap Re. Currently, I am toning up to lose all the excess. Just to change the look completely for one of my films, I have grown a moustache and made sure of totally different look in all the films.
Monal GajjarAfter Thai Jashe, I had to put on seven to eight kilos for a mature look in the film Reva. I had to shed all that weight and look fit in the film Family Circus, so for a person like me who loves food, it was difficult to take time out for gym and reduce weight. But I made sure of losing whatever weight I had put on and got my hair chopped to make it all look right.
Kinjal RajpriyaI have played role a glamorous role in the films Chhello Divas and Days of Tafree. In Shu Thayu?, the role was quite similar but I had put on some weight to look different. While shooting for Short Circuit, a sci-fi Gujarati film, I was playing an action role so had to learn different technicalities for action scenes in the films. I also followed a hectic workout schedule in the gym in which I only lifted weights to make my body look stronger and toned. After shooting for Short Circuit, I had to put on some weight for the film Hoon and eating too much is not easy after you have been following a fit and healthy routine.
Revanta SarabhaiIn Paaghadi, I had an overall transformation. I am playing an NRI and had to work on the accent. I had to show those tantrums and the attitude of an NRI who was still trying hard to settle in India. With Mijaaj, there was lot of physical and martial arts training involved. I had to put on ten kilos. I had to change my look and eating routine because of the role of a rough and tough person. In real life, I am a quiet person but in Mijaaj I am a person who provokes people to fight with me.
