Known for films like Lagaan and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, actor Aditya Lakhiya is currently waiting for the lockdown to get over so that he can finalise a date to release his debut Gujarati film Khape. A content driven film, Khape, says Aditya is a niche film with a mass appeal and he has already sent the film for the National Award contention apart from some prestigious national and international awards.
But now he wants to make a complete masala entertainer that can achieve good BO numbers. Talking about it, Aditya says, “Khape is a very content driven film, which will be liked by the audience, but now I want to make a complete masala entertainer that has a universal appeal. I want to work on films that can bring some moolah into the industry and create more audience for the Gujarati film industry.”
He adds, “At this point in time, there is some really good work being done in the industry, what we need is to deliver good films that make money on a more consistent basis. This way we will have able to create a loyal audience, just like many other regional film industries have in other parts of India.”
