The Gujarati film industry has seen something very special this year. For the first time ever, the total collection of Gujarati films crossed Rs 100 crore in 2025. Within just one more month, the number went beyond Rs 200 crore. In an interview actor Pratik Gandhi spoke about 'Laalo' with pride and emotion, and the 'Scam' actor also said that 'Laalo's success gave him a lot of hope.

Pratik Gandhi’s praises 'Laalo'

During a conversation with We Are Yuvaa, Pratik Gandhi shared how 'Laalo' inspired him deeply. He said, “I’m just talking about a Gujarati film recently. It is the first ever Gujarati film to cross 100 crores. In all times, Laalo.”Gandhi spoke about the team behind the film and said, “The whole team, the director is a first time director. Who has been a clapper boy for many years.”
How December’s First Week Became Box Office King
Gandhi felt their confidence was rare. He said, “The whole team, the confidence I saw in them, that actually made me think, that we keep thinking in every small thing, that will it happen or not.”
Pratik Gandhi also explained how difficult the journey was. “They had no idea whether the film would be made or not,” he said. He added, “Half of the film was made, then they took money from friends.”
Even after the film was completed nothing was sure. “After it was made, they didn’t know whether it would be released or not,” Pratik shared.The toughest phase came after release. “Earlier, the film was not able to do anything for 3, 4, 5, 6 weeks,” he said. “They were not even getting a show. In the end, there were 3 shows left and suddenly the film picked up.”

'Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate' box office success

“It went on to cross 100 crores,” Pratik said. “For the first time ever in the history of Gujarati films. So, a big shout out to the whole team. That gave me a lot of hopes. What are we crying over?" Gandhi ended with emotion and hope.Laalo’s box office numbers prove the story. According to the latest Sacnilk website reports the worldwide collection stands at around Rs 120.4 crore. India net collection is around Rs 95.41 crore, while India gross has reached Rs 112.9 crore. The film has earned around Rs 7.5 crore overseas.
