It was an honour for me to sing for Hellaro: Bhoomi Trivedi
Popular singer Bhoomi Trivedi, whose song ‘Vaagyo Re Dhol’ from the film
Hellaro
turned out to be one of the biggest musical hits of the year, says that she loved the entire experience. Bhoomi also feels that 2020 will be a great year for music in Gujarati films. Talking to us, Bhoomi shares, “I am really upbeat about the future of Gujarati film music, and the huge success of the songs in
Hellaro
gives us enough reasons to celebrate.

Personally, it was an honour to sing the number ‘Vaagyo Re Dhol’, which has such a retro feel to it. There is this perception that this generation only prefers modern sounds and ‘urban’ films, but the success of
Hellaro
proves otherwise. Depending on the content of the film, even acoustic sounds can strike a chord with the masses and in 2020, I think Gujarati film music will see experimentation with all kinds of sounds and genres, depending on the script. Also, since we are getting to hear so many remixes in Bollywood these days, there are music lovers who are turning to Gujarati film music for fresh songs, which have good lyrics and nice sounds. I also believe that folk songs will always stay relevant in Gujarati films. I don’t think the composers are following any set rules right now and are open to different kinds of treatment to songs, which is great news for singers. The audience has started accepting good Gujarati film songs in a big way, and this is a very welcome change.”
