Now, I have a refined sense of electronic music: Nipun Divecha

The Indian electronic music scene is evolving fast, and Nipun Divecha, who hails from Vadodara, has emerged as a music producer and DJ of repute. Nipun, who has played at festivals like the Sunburn, Satellite, Floh and countless other events, has created his own brand in the music genre of Techno (majorly Melodic Techno). Having opened for big names like John Digweed, Hernan Catteneo, Nick Warren, Cubicolor, Shpongle, Nikhil Chinapa and other stars, Nipun is currently in a great space professionally, as a producer and DJ.
With such a versatile background, it was only expected that he would get a dream project and now, the likes of Weekend Heroes and Citizen Kain are about to remix his EP, Fire in the Boeing EP. Talking about his journey so far, he shares, “I have been closely related to art forms since childhood. My grandfather was a painter and his artwork inspired me to walk the musical talk. Thanks to the days of playing at clubs in Mumbai, I have eventually refined my sense of electronic music and have started producing as a full-time producer.”
And ever since he started playing the best slots at Mumbai’s premier night clubs, his musical journey has just got bigger and better. Adds Nipun, “Mumbai’s night life has taught me one thing above all, and that is to remain grounded. As soon as I exit the club, I am just like any other regular person but when I am on the decks, I am in a parallel universe, where my ultimate aim is to make the packed dance floor jive, and thrive.”
With new Indian talent moving into the global electronic scene, his long-term targets are clubs based in party capitals like Ibiza, Amsterdam, and Berlin.
