written and directed by Puneet Issar this weekend.
The Broadway type play saw a packed house and left Amdavadis mesmerised with grand sets, costumes, creative use of light, apt music and background score along with breathtaking performances by the cast comprising 24 actors.

Talking to Ahmedabad Times after the show, Gufi Paintal said, “Ahmedabad has been a very receptive place for us. Every time we are here, Gujaratis shower us with a lot of love.”

While Rahul Bhuchar, the founder of Felicity Theatre, is seen in the role of Karna in this play, the role of Dronacharya is played by veteran actor Surendra Pal. On whether he has watched any Gujarati plays, Gufi says, “Some plays have really got international appeal like
Baa Retire Thay Chhe
and Paresh Rawal’s
Dear Father
.”
Talking about theatre, particularly young theatre artistes, he says, “Theatre is done for the sake of art and if you can look after yourself and your family’s well being then it’s ok. Otherwise, it doesn’t give you lot of money and has to come from heart. If you pursue this passion, it gives you courage and improves your acting craft.”
The actor feels that theatre is a great medium to chisel one’s craft. “Here you get instant result as against TV shows or movies,” he signs off.
