'2.0' box office collection day 12: The S. Shankar directorial is now the Third Highest Grosser of 2018
Sequel to director S. Shankar's 2010 superhit film 'Enthiran' (Robot), big-budget sci-fi film '2.0' starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar is continuing its magnificent run at the box office. The film which hit the screens on 29th November is now the third highest grosser of the year, crossing the collections of 'Race 3' on Monday.

According to the latest report by BoxofficeIndia.com, the film has managed to collect another Rs 3.75 crore at the box office on Monday. However, the collection on Monday is 35% down from Friday. The film has now collected 167.50 crores in total after 12 days, surpassing 'Race 3' to be the third highest grossing film of the year.
The film's plot revolves around Chitti (played by Rajinikanth), the once dismantled humanoid robot, and Pakshirajan (played by Akshay Kumar), an ornithologist who seeks vengeance on cell phone users to prevent bird population decline.

The film directed by S. Shankar is also touted as the most expensive Indian film ever made with a budget of over 500 crores.
