'Housefull 5' Box Office collection day 20: Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh’s film inches closer to Rs 180 crore

Akshay Kumar’s latest multi-starrer comedy film ‘Housefull 5’ is now in its third week at the cinemas and is still bringing in numbers. After a strong opening and steady growth over the first two weeks, the film now seems to be slowing down. But even as its pace drops, the movie is just a step away from crossing the Rs 180 crore mark at the Indian box office.

As per early estimates from Sacnilk, ‘Housefull 5’ collected Rs 90 lakh on Day 20 (25 June), pushing its total box office collection in India to Rs 179.75 crore. With just Rs 25 lakh more to go, the film may cross Rs 180 crore in the coming days.

However, the film’s current numbers show that it is beginning to lose steam, especially as new releases like Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ and Dhanush’s ‘Kuberaa’ continue to perform well and attract large crowds to cinemas.

‘Housefull 5’ is packed with stars and promises big laughs and wild twists. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles. Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet and Johny Lever add more star power in supporting roles. The female cast includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma. Chunky Panday and Dino Morea also make special appearances.

The story takes place on a luxurious cruise, where a murder mystery unfolds. A rich tycoon announces that one of the three men named “Jolly” will be made his heir. But before he can reveal who it is, he is murdered. The twist? There are three Jollys, and all of their girlfriends become suspects.
