Prasanna, it is the remake of his own Tamil Movie 'Kalyana Samayal Saadham' and has been produced by Aanand L. Rai of 'Tanu Weds Manu' series fame. 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' revolves around an arranged-love-arranged marriage concept which hits a road block as the Delhi-based groom Mudit (Ayushmann Khurrana) suffers from erectile dysfunction and all hell breaks loose as he tries several hacks to solve the problem before his wedding with Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar).
The film is based in Delhi and Haridwar and was extensively shot in Delhi, Hrishikesh and Haridwar. Interestingly, Seema Pahwa who also worked with Ayushmann Khurrana in his recent release 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' plays his would-be mother-in-law in this one. The actress along with Shubhankar Tripathi, Anshul Chauhan and Brijendra Kala add to the hilarity with their comic timings. The film is heavily loaded with humorous and tongue in cheek lines which strike a chord with the audience with its genuineness.
