Uri: The Surgical Strike' starring
Vicky Kaushal and
Yami Gautam in the lead roles has managed to break the box office dominance held by Ranveer Singh starrer 'Simmba'. Directed by
Aditya Dhar, the film saw a good first-weekend collection and is a hit film. The film clashed with Anupam Kher's 'The Accidental Prime Minister' at the box office, both centered on nationhood and patriotism. Critics and audience have lauded Vicky Kaushal's performance.
'Uri' hit the screens on 11 January and has managed to draw the audience to theaters.

The film is based on the surgical strikes carried out on September 29, 2016, by the Indian Army on terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control. The strikes were carried out in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an army camp at Uri earlier that month.
Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is produced by
Ronnie Screwvala. 'Uri' was announced by the producer after one year of the surgical strike in September 2017. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina in the lead roles.
