The filmmaker penned a heartfelt note. He talked about why the film will be always special for him. The post was captioned as, ''DDLJ is so so special to me and will always be....it was my training ground ....I have indelible memories of our times on set....the film has achieved the status of being a legendary love story and I am so proud that I was a tiny part of this beautiful film! Thank you Adi for all my learning’s and all the memories ...

In one photo, Karan is seen having a conversation with the late actor Amrish Puri who played Kajol's onscreen father. Whereas another still we can see a group of three friends on the train in Europe.
Helmed by Aditya Chopra, the film was shot in India, London, and Switzerland. SRK played the role of Raj Malhotra, while Kajol essayed the role of Simran Singh. They were non-resident Indians (NRI) living in London.
Recently, SRK and Kajol updated the names of their Twitter handles to their characters in the film. The actor changed his name to Raj Malhotra while Kajol has updated it to Simran.
