Action-packed love story of a soldier and boxer

Considering the fact that Holiday — A Soldier Is Never Off Duty marks Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha’s fourth outing together, director AR Murugadoss found it challenging to add novelty to their pairing. The hero, playing an army captain and his on-screen love interest being a boxer, add intrigue to this action-romance film, presented by Reliance Entertainment.
Says a source, “Their romance had to be different from what they’ve done before.” To get her character right, Sonakshi not only lost eight-odd kilos, but also trained — for posture and physical movements — to be a female boxer.

Incidentally, this is the first time she is playing such a westernised and bold character. Adds the source, “Romance starts when Akshay sees her boxing, and that adds novelty to their pairing.”
Producer Vipul Shah says, “Murugadoss is known to create unique love stories. In this thriller also, Akshay-Sonakshi’s romance finds its place naturally.”
