Aditi Rao Hydari: Don’t abandon your pets. They love you unconditionally and deserve all of your love

Amid the coronavirus scare, Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari stepped up to spread awareness by urging her 4.8 million followers on Instagram not to abandon their pets. “Please please please don’t abandon your pets. Dogs and cats don’t spread corona. They love you unconditionally and deserve all of your love. #BeKind #HealTheWorld (sic),” read the caption of her post. Check it out!

Due to uncertainty and misinformation, there has been an increase in the number of people abandoning their pets.Many even gave their pets away to animal shelters while some put them down to keep the dreaded virus at bay. However, credible sources like the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention reportedly clarified that pets cannot contract and transmit the virus. “At present, there is no evidence that companion animals/pets such as dogs or cats can be infected with the new coronavirus,” read a statement by WHO.
And, in order to help prevent cruelty against animals, various other B-Town celebrities including Kriti Sanon, Richa Chadha and Twinkle Khanna have also reiterated this on their social media handles.
