Aditya Pancholi decided to apply for anticipatory bail on Monday afternoon at the Dindoshi Sessions Court in Mumbai. By then, it had been four days since an FIR was registered by the Versova Police Station against him, following the charges of
rape and
extortion levelled against him by a leading actress.
The case had been registered against him under IPC 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc with intent to commit an offence), 384 (punishment for extortion), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation).
His lawyer, Advocate Prashant Patil told us that the hearing was due at around 2.45 pm.
