A day after rumours of India's nightingale Lata Mangeshkar being killed online started spreading, it is now the turn of actress Asha Parekh.
Rumours of actress Asha Parekh passing away spread like wild fire on micro-blogging website Twitter. Asha Parekh, one of the country's most influential and loved actresses of her time became the butt of rumour mills who targeted her.
After veteran actress Nanda, who passed away on March 25, 2014 because of a heart attack, the micro-blogging website Twitter first targeted singer Lata Mangeshkar and a day later Asha Parekh.

Lata Mangeshkar tweeted about her good health from her official Twitter account and said "Namaskar. Meri tabiyat ke baare mein afwaayein phail rahi hai. Par aap sab ka pyar aur duaaien hain ke meri tabiyat bilkul thik hai".
Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai and former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had tweeted about Asha Parekh's apparent 'demise' through their Twitter account. Rajdeep Sardesai wrote on his Twitter account saying "Deep apologies; now told my info on Ms Parekh passing away is wrong. Picked it up from a tweet. Apologies to all and esp to her". Sanjay Manjrekar also apologised on his account and wrote "Sincerest apology to Ms Parekh..won't trust one news source anymore...imp lesson learnt".
