Akshay Kumar to Suniel Shetty, Bollywood celebs pay tribute to the martyrs of Kargil War

Kargil Vijay Diwas marks India’s victory at the Kargil war that was fought between India and Pakistan in 1999. India was successfully able to free the Kargil hills that were captured by Pakistani infiltrators during the winter of the year. The Indian Army fought under Operation Vijay which forced the enemies to flee. The day is celebrated to pay homage to the hundreds of Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the war.Several actors paid an homage to the spirit and life of our army officers on this day.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar shared a tweet to commemorate the martyrs of 1999. He wrote, “With gratitude in heart and prayer on the lips, remembering our brave hearts who attained martyrdom in Kargil War. We live because of you."

Action hero Suniel Shetty also paid his regards to the soldiers and wrote, “On this #KargilVijayDiwas, we salute the heroes who displayed unmatched courage and valor in the Kargil War, and ensured our nation's security and sovereignty. Jai Hind! #IndianArmy #proudtobeindian #KargilVijayDiwas2023”

Nimrat Kaur whose father was also a part of the army attended an early morning cycling event that was organised to pay tribute to the soldiers. She tweeted, “Remembering the unparalleled sacrifices and valour of the Indian Armed Forces on Kargil Vijay Diwas. Back home in Noida my Mama completed a 20km cycling marathon organized in their memory. Never shall we forget the supreme service of the heroes of the Kargil War."
