Ananya Panday lauds Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’, says the film left her teary-eyed

Shahid Kapoor’s career trajectory faced quite a few twists and turns but he has always proved his mettle as a performer to watch out for. Shahid’s latest release ‘Jersey’ is no different. The Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film with the same title is already receiving appreciation from all corners.

And now, Ananya Panday has shared how the sports drama has left her emotionally drenched.The actress took to her Instagram story to share an appreciation post for the ‘Jersey’ team. She revealed the film has left her teary-eyed. “All the feels (sic) @ShahidKapoor you made me cry like a baby!!! Just the best @Brunalthakur you are sunshine girl," wrote Ananya. She also tagged Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur with a raising hands emoji.

In Jersey, Shahid Kapoor takes on the role of a cricketer. The original film, made in Telugu, stars South star Nani in the lead. The sports drama won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and for Best Editing. The sports film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, released in the theatres this Friday. The film also has veteran actor and Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur in a key role. While Shahid Kapoor plays Arjun, the cricketer, Mrunal Thakur plays his girlfriend-turned-wife. The story revolves around a cricketer, who returns to the field in his 30s for the sake of his son.
