Anil Kapoor is all geared up for his upcoming project, 'Fanney Khan', which is already making noise for all the good reasons. The ensemble cast that include Anil Kapoor,
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan,
Rajkummar Rao and
Divya Dutta in pivotal roles is making the movie look more attractive. Moreover, each one of them have a very interesting character to play.
However, talking about the character 'Fanney', Anil Kapoor had said that the character plays trumpet whenever he is sad or happy and that's make the trumpet a very integral part of Fanney.
The instrument stays with the character through out the movie as a prized possession.
Interestingly, this is not for the first time, Anil Kapoor has learnt an instrument for a film. He started his Bollywood career learning to play the harmonium for 'Woh Saat Din' (1983). Talking about his love for learning instruments, Anil divulged that he had learnt the harmonium from Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan and music is extremely close to his heart. In fact he understands melody and rhythm through roles he played.
Despite playing a variety of instruments for his films it is the trumpet that he found the hardest to perform with. While talking on the same, Anil shared that playing it, and acting while playing it, are two different things. It was challenging to emote while using the instrument. My character, Fanney, plays it when he is sad or happy. So I had to make it look real.
For the uninitiated, 'Fanney Khan' is a kind musical comedy which also tells a story about a father, who wishes to fulfil his daughter's dream of being an aspirational singer.
