Actor Anup Soni has recently opened up about how he became an acting teacher, and went on to land roles in films. In an interview with The Lallantop, Anup revealed that he took the teaching route when he didn’t get much acting assignments, despite being a NSD graduate. “I am a very restless soul, I don’t like sitting idle. I always feel the need to do something,” he shared.

During his teaching career, he has trained Akshaye Khanna, and many other actors, interestingly for a nominal fee of Rs 300 per class. Anup Soni decided to give up his teaching career, as it wasn’t any way helping his acting career, and it was also time-consuming.

“That’s when I realised that I didn’t want to be a teacher, I wanted to be an actor,” he explained. Slowly the frequency of teaching classes went down. “But after a point I didn’t want to get busy teaching. Kishore Namit Kapoor really liked me, I would charge Rs 300 per class, that he increased to Rs 400 and from once a week, I was taking a class four days a week. But I had to leave it,” he reminisced.

Anup Soni also reckoned that the choice to not do something just for money, became a turning point in his life.
