Ayushmann, Aparshakti bid an emotional farewell to their father

Actors, Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti’s father, Pt P Khurrana, 72, passed away in Chandigarh on Friday morning. The cremation ground witnessed emotional scenes as the brothers performed the last rites of their father amid family and friends. P Khurrana was a leading astrologer in Chandigarh, who succumbed to a long-standing health problem.

A statement put out by the hospital treating Khurrana stated, “Mr VK Khurrana (VK were his actual initials) was admitted at the hospital in Mohali on May 13 with respiratory failure.His condition continued to worsen with multiple organ dysfunction. He passed away on May 19 morning.”

This tragic incident came just a day before Ayushmann was set to be awarded at his alma mater, Panjab University, by the Vice President, for his contribution towards the performing arts. The Khurranas are a close knit family and ensured that the entire clan gathered around their parents on every occasion and festival. Amid the pandemic, the brothers had bought a bigger house in Panchkula to accomodate their respective wives and children, along with their parents in the same house.
