Sunny Deol took to his social media accounts to share the first motion poster of his upcoming film 'Batwara 1947'. The clip opens with the caption, "In times of hatred and fear, he chose courage." Then the short clip reveals the first look of Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and other cast members. The motion poster also featured Karan Deol. The background music used in it is proof that the film will be an intense drama. The poster also revealed the official release date of the movie.

The initial title of the film was 'Lahore 1947'. However, the makers decided to change it to 'Batwara 1947' recently.
According to the Bollywood Hungama report, Aamir Khan, who is the producer of the film, didn't want to title it 'Lahore 1947'. However, the new name belonged to the late producer Salim Akhtar. The report stated that Khan met the family of the late producer and convinced them to give him the title.
Apart from Sunny Deol, the movie will also feature Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal and Sunny's son Karan Deol, and more. As the title suggests, the film story will revolve around the partition of India.
