Bobby Deol reveals the reason behind the top director’s fallout with Dharmendra, saying, 'took offense and never...'
Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ is just days away from release and has fans eagerly anticipating its arrival. The promotions of the show are on for the show that features Bobby Deol, Lakshya Lalwani, Raghav Juyal, and others. In a recent interview, Bobby talked openly about his experiences, including the challenges he faced with his habit of turning down producers.
Bobby Deol on childhood regrets
Talking to Pinkvilla, Bobby was asked about any regrets from his childhood. He answered, “No, I have not done anything like this. I am actually the youngest in my family, hence I have been brought up very protectively. I was always taught to tell the truth and not lie.”
Truth-telling challenges in the industry
Bobby further added, “I had one problem: I couldn’t lie about it, and because of this, there have been times in those days when I have told the truth to a few people, but they have not liked it. This is the problem in our industry: that you cannot say what is in your heart unless you get to know the other person completely, or they get to know you.”
Dharmendra’s fallout with a top director
The actor also recalled an incident involving his father, Dharmendra, when asked if he had ever refused a producer. He shared that his father had a similar experience with a well-known director famous for his blockbuster films. The director often collaborated with Dharmendra and had once offered him a major film, one that remains popular with audiences. For some reason, Dharmendra politely declined the offer, but the director took offense and never worked with him again.
Bobby’s approach to film projects
He also mentioned that he has never faced such a situation himself, as he began his career with the intention of doing only a few films. He said, “I have always worked in fewer films, and the problem with me used to be that many producers did not pay despite promising me. But now it's different. Now, proper contracts are signed, and they are so scary that you yourself will be scared after reading them.”
Respect from producers
Bobby signed off by saying that all the producers he has worked with, have been very kind and respectful to him.
