jaipur: a new bollywood film talash, featuring kareena kapoor and akshay kumar, would be picturised on the world-famous 'palace-on-wheels' train for a week from february 14 next at a flag railway station in rajasthan. a memorandum of understanding (mou) to this effect was signed between the rajasthan tourism development corporation (rtdc) and the chirag company of bollywood film producer pahlaj nihlani at a special function organised here last night.
state tourism minister beena kak said the rtdc would make available six coaches of the train for shooting in an effort to promote rajasthan's tourism and heritage. tourist influx in the desert state was badly hit after the terrorist attack on the us and parliament house. in a joint press conference, nihlani said the production company would pay for the services to the railways and also for damage caused, if any, during shooting. a pow's replica (spacious coach) was already built for picturisation of scenes and it would be shunted with six hired coaches at dhankiya railway station, he said. rtdc chairman l k panwar said if 75 per cent of the film was shot in rajasthan, it would be given cent per cent tax exemption in the state. passengers' flow on pow would not be affected by this mou as booking chart was considered first, panwar said. to a question, kareena replied it would be a new experience of acting in a traditional and luxurious train while on move.
