Ajay Devgn's Maidaan is one of the most awaited movies of the year. The teaser of the same was dropped earlier this year, but the movie has gone through a lot of delays and post the teaser, there was no update on the same. However, now news is that
Boney Kapoor, one of the producers of Maidaan, is all set to share a glimpse of the film next week.
At a leading cine expo in Chennai on August 8 and 9, Boney Kapoor will present some never seen before footage of the sports drama.
According to reports, Boney will not only screen the trailer but also share some crucial scenes from the movie. It is said that attendees will have to submit their phones beforehand to avoid any footage being leaked.
Going back to the teaser of Maidaan, it takes us to the 'Golden Era Of football' from 1952-1962. The teaser begins with an introduction to the Indian football team in 1952 when it had qualified for the Olympics in Helsinki, Finland.
Ajay Devgn headlines the project and essays a real life character of coach Syed Abdul Rahim. We are introduced to his character, who is seen on the field smoking and looking quite broody. One sees glimpses of some of the problems faced by the team while the teaser ends with Ajay's dialogue, 'Aaj maidaan mein utarna gyarah lekin dikhna ek."
The film will showcase the adversities faced by the team and especially by coach Rahim for the success of the team. 'Maidaan' also stars Priyamani and
Gajraj Rao. It's directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. AR
