Amid the coronavirus scare, ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ actress Athiya Shetty was seen showering love and affection to an adorable dog, and the picture encourages people not to abandon their furry friends in these times.

Due to uncertainty and misinformation, there was an increase in the number of people abandoning their pets to keep the dreaded virus at bay. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) reportedly clarified that pets cannot contract and transmit the virus.“At present, there is no evidence that companion animals/pets such as dogs or cats can be infected with the new coronavirus,” read a statement by WHO.
Several celebrities stepped up to spread awareness, and among them was Athiya.
