Chunky Panday talks about marrying Bhavana Panday during his career's toughest times

In the late 1980s, Chunky Panday emerged as a rising star in Bollywood, but his career faced challenges as newcomers like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan entered the scene. Despite delivering several hit films, he soon struggled to find work. Although he regained some success in the early 1990s with movies like 'Vishwatama' and 'Aankhen', this revival was short-lived, prompting him to seek opportunities in Bangladesh. In a recent interview, he recalled this period of his life, revealing that he took his wife Bhavana to Bangladesh for a mini honeymoon.

In a recent chat with Brut, Chunky discussed the challenges he faced in his career after achieving multiple hits. He found himself without work despite being part of several multi-hero films, which did not frustrate him but left him confused about his situation. To find new opportunities, he decided to work in Bangladesh, where he enjoyed a successful run for five years. During this time, he married Bhavana in 1998 and even took her to Bangladesh for a half-honeymoon while completing a film.

Chunky shared that he returned to Mumbai to work after his wife Bhavana reminded him that he could only maintain his identity as a Bollywood hero by working in the industry. He began going from office to office in search of roles. During this time, his daughters were young, and he was discovering his role as a parent. He mentioned that having his daughters in his life felt like starting his career anew. Chunky married Bhavana during the lowest phase of his career.

On the work front, Chunky was recently seen in 'Vijay 69', where he stars alongside Anupam Kher. In this film, Chunky plays a Parsi character for the first time, acting as a supportive friend to Kher's lead role, Vijay, a 69-year-old man training for a triathlon.
