The Ranveer Singh-starrer, which comes soon after "Dhurandhar", releases in cinemas on Thursday. And more than 15 lakh tickets have already been sold. This includes the paid previews which begin from 5.30 pm on Wednesday.
"At PVR INOX, we have not seen this sort of advance booking even pre-COVID-19... The excitement is phenomenal, there’s no precedent. It looks like the film is going to take a massive opening. We are looking at a strong finish to March, and a strong start to April," Kamal Gianchandani, told PTI.
"I hope it breaks the record of ‘Dhurandhar’ one and hope it turns out to be the first film to cross Rs 1,000 crore nett box office in Hindi, besides, the contribution from dubbed versions of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. I hope that’s an addition to Rs 1,000 crore."
It was supposed to be a day of excitement and anticipation. Fans had booked their tickets well in advance for the highly-awaited 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' paid preview shows at Galaxy and Gaiety theatres in Mumbai, eagerly waiting to experience the latest blockbuster sequel.
However, what was promised as a thrilling show turned into disappointment for moviegoers, as both the 4:45 PM show at Galaxy and the 5:15 PM show at Gaiety were abruptly cancelled.
Fans began arriving early, some as early as 4:30 PM, hoping to secure their spots for what was expected to be a packed theatre. Fans opened up about their love for the first 'Dhurandhar' film and their high hopes for the sequel. Many came from far-off places like Andheri, hoping to make it a movie night to remember.
"I thought the show would start at 6 PM," one fan shared, "but then they told us it was delayed until 9 PM," he added, "But I think it's the team's fault. I will come tomorrow now"
Some fans were devastated. "I came all the way from Andheri for this movie," one disappointed moviegoer said. "I thought I would watch it for 4 hours, but now it's all ruined."
Many of the fans had been waiting for hours, some standing from 4 pm, and others arriving only to find the theatre packed with people, all of whom shared the same heartbreaking news: the 'Dhurandar 2' show was delayed.
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has made a solid start at the box office, registering strong numbers across domestic and international markets. The Ranveer Singh-led film has grossed Rs 75.00 crore worldwide so far, according to Sacnilk.
Out of this, the India gross stands at Rs 52.75 crore, while the overseas markets have contributed Rs 22.25 crore. In terms of net collections, the film has earned Rs 44.00 crore in India.
The film’s performance comes from a wide release across 12,292 shows, reflecting its massive scale and reach.

‘Aditya Dhar was telling a story he completely believed in’
Praising the filmmaker’s conviction, Anupam Kher said that the success of Dhurandhar stems from its honesty and clarity of vision.
“He (Aditya Dhar) was trying to tell a story which he completely believed in. Aditya Dhar has done a remarkable job. It’s one of the finest films—not because gore or violence was shown differently, but because of the bravado of an Indian agent who goes into enemy territory and the truth of that whole journey,” he told Pinkvilla.

Kher also highlighted the contribution of the ensemble cast but credited Ranveer Singh for grounding the film with his performance.
“Bahut saara shrey of course Akshaye ko bhi jaata hai, R. Madhavan ko bhi jaata hai, jitne bhi logon ne usme kaam kiya—mere dost Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, that young girl Sara Arjun... but I think a lot of credit goes to Ranveer Singh for not breaking the mould of a man who’s standing behind,” he said.
Elaborating further, Kher added, “It was his performance which made the film real. He is a superstar—kahin wo flinch karke overreact kar sakta tha, but he stayed calm and composed, and that made other characters look superior.”

A similar cancellations were reported in Mumbai, where the 4:45 PM show at Galaxy Theatre and the 5:15 PM show at Gaiety Galaxy Cinema did not take place, leaving fans frustrated.
Reports also indicated that paid preview screenings in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were called off just hours before their scheduled start, although no official confirmation has come from the film's makers.

The entire script was corrected to align with visuals, dialogues, lyrics, and suggested changes. End credits length was cut by 1 minute. An Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) certificate was provided for animal visuals.

While the rapper noted that she hasn't personally endured extreme instances of bias, she emphasized that the struggles of her peers from the North East continue to affect her deeply.
During the chat with NDTV, she said, "I've never faced severe cases of racism, but my NE brothers and sisters definitely have, and it definitely affects me emotionally," she says.

During the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2026 held in Mumbai recently, Bhambri expressed his absolute conviction that the Ranveer Singh-starrer is set to "create history" upon its global release tomorrow. "As a newcomer in this industry, having seen how Aditya Sir has taken the minutest things into consideration right from the culture, the language, the looks, people, and place, I am simply awestruck with the attention to detail in his work. I’m a true believer that Dhurandhar 2 will create history across the globe. Dhurandhar 2 will be the ghatak period," Bhambri said

Reflecting on his role as the cunning Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali in the 'Dhurandhar' franchise, veteran actor Rakesh Bedi shared that his performance was largely intuitive. Speaking at the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2026 on March 7, Bedi noted that the character required very little traditional preparation.
"I did a little bit of homework for the role, but not much. Most of it came very organically," Bedi revealed, adding that he encountered no major obstacles while bringing the scheming politician to life.
Though he sang praises of the filmmaker, he kept his lips sealed on the plot and twists of the upcoming sequel. The only thing he said when probed was, “It’s coming on 19th March, that’s all." Af far as his character is concerned, the actor shared, “I did a little bit of homework for the role, but not much. Most of it came very organically."

After successfully ambushing and killing Dakait in a remote location, Hamza takes his body to the hospital to showcase his loyalty to Dakait, concluding the storyline of the first part.
