Shiladitya Bora, the distributor of the National Award winning multilingual Court has landed himself a dream job.
The former director of PVR Rare has been appointed CEO of Manish Mundra's production company, Drishyam. He begins work on May 1. An ebullient Bora told this diaryist that the biggest problem faced by Indie films is lack of funds. "But Manish has both money and vision," he pointed out about his 41-year-old boss who produced his first two films--Ankhon Dekhi and Umr Last year, Mundra's $83,000 contribution bailed out MAMI and this year, he took Nagesh Kukunoor's Dhanak to the Berlin Film Festival.
"The challenge ahead is to create a self-sustaining eco-system for content-driven cinema," said Manish, adding that Shiladitya, apart from his expertise in the field of distribution and production, brings with him considerable energy and passion for cinema.
